Abstract

The problem in this study is that children's critical thinking skills are still relatively low and the learning process has not stimulated children's critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of children's critical thinking skills before and after the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model. The method used in this study is a quantitative method using the One Groups Pretest Posttest Design. The sample in this study was class B2 TK Muslimat NU Kebumen, totaling 15 children. The sampling technique uses total sampling or the entire population is used as a sample. Data collection techniques in this study are observation and documentation. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon non-parametric test. The results of data analysis show that asymp.sig is 0.001. Because 0.001 <0.05, it can be concluded that guided inquiry learning has an effect on children's critical thinking skills that the hypothesis is accepted. This means that there is an influence of the inquiry learning model on the critical thinking skills of children aged 5-6 years. This means that the use of inquiry learning models can help stimulate the critical thinking skills of children aged 5-6 years
