Abstract

Atonik is an organic compound that is naturally synthesized by plants and influences physiological processes in plants as well as the auxin group which is in liquid form. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of atonic solution concentrations on the growth of green bean (Vigna radiata L.) explants in vitro under drought stress conditions, which are induced by PEG 6000 at different concentrations. This research was carried out in March- April 2023 in the Plant Tissue Culture Room, Botany Laboratory, Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Lampung. This research design was prepared using the basic pattern of a 3x3 Completely Randomized Design with two factors; The first factor is atonic solution with three concentration levels, namely 0 ml/l (A0), 1 ml/l (A1), 2 ml/l (A2) and the second factor is PEG 6000 w/v with three concentration levels, namely 0% ( B0), 3% (B1), 4% (B2) with 3 repetitions. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance at the 5% data level followed by the BNT test at the 5% level. The results showed that there was an interaction between the atonic solution and PEG 6000 on the growth and chlorophyll content of green bean plantlets (Vigna radiata L.). Giving atonic 2 ml/l was able to increase plantlet height and chlorophyll in conditions not affected by drought. However, atonic solution concentrations of 1 ml/l and 2 ml/l were not able to increase the growth of green bean plantlets that were stressed by drought in vitro.
