Abstract
Agriculture 4.0 is expected to optimize agricultural yields and help farmers to cultivate bak choy easier. Utilization of IOT (Internet of Thing) technology by using an arduino based automatic watering system will monitor and set the soil moisture levels and apply more efficient water use. The purpose of this study was to determine plant growth and production of bok choy (Brassica rapa L.) at several levels of water availability which were precisely controlled by an Arduino microcontroller. The research was conducted at the Integrated Field Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung in November 2021 – March 2022. The design used was a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with treatment 20%-40% (P1), 40%-60% (P2), 60%-80% (P3) and 80%-100% (P4) water availability of field capacity in 4 repetitions. Observation variables included plant height, leaf number, leaf greenness level, plant fresh weight, root fresh weight, root length and number of leaf stomata. The data from the research were tested for homogeneity with the Bartlett test and for additives with the Tukey test, then tested with analysis of variance. The effect of the average treatment can be seen with the smallest significant difference test (BNT) at the level of 5%. The results of the study obtained the application of 80%-100% water content by using an Arduino microcontroller to obtain the best results in increasing the growth and production of Bok Choy in each variable of the treatment.
