Abstract
Mangrove ecotourism is a form of optimal utilization of forest resources by taking into account the elements of conservation, education, and local communities. The limited knowledge of the community in its management can resulted in these tourist destinations being less attractive to visitors. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase public knowledge and awareness in developing mangrove ecotourism and explore opportunities and challenges to its management. This activity was held on August 8, 2021 in Margasari Village, Labuhan Maringgai District, East Lampung Regency. The method applied is group meetings through focus group discussions whose implementation includes three stages, namely material presentation, discussion, and evaluation. The results of the service showed that the knowledge and understanding of the community increased significantly based on the results of the pretest, posttest, and evaluation of process during the activity. This activity makes people aware that there are a lot of potentials that can be optimized in the management of mangrove ecotourism in order to create a tourist village that is attractive, creative, innovative, and able to support the economy of the surrounding community.
