Abstract

Orchid Cattleya sp. nicknamed The Queen of Orchid because the size of this orchid is larger than other orchids. Orchid Cattleya labiata Lindl. cultivation is difficult, therefore in vitro culture is carried out for the propagation of this orchid. In its growth Cattleya labiata Lindl. have several diseases such as wilt caused by the fungus Fusarium oxysporum. This fungus infects injured plants mainly at the roots. One of the efforts to overcome this pathogenic infection is to increase plant resistance using salicylic acid (AS) induced. This study aimed to determine the induced concentration of salicylic acid which is tolerant to Fusarium wilt disease and to analyze the specific expression character of the plantlet of Cattleya labiata Lindl. which is resistant to Fusarium wilt disease and to know the criteria for plantlet resistance of Cattleya labiata Lindl. result of salicylic acid effect on Fusarium mushroom inoculation. This research design was prepared using the basic pattern of Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor. The treatment was the addition of salicylic acid into the VW (Vacin and Went) medium with a concentration of 0 ppm (control), 85 ppm, 95 ppm, 105 ppm and 115 ppm. Homogeneity testing was carried out using Levene's test and then analyzed using analysis of variance at a 5% significance level. If the resulting data shows a significant level of difference, then it is continued with the Honest Significant Difference test at a significant level of 5%. The results obtained were the concentration of AS that was tolerant to the selection of plantlets of the Cattleya labiata Lindl orchid. is a concentration of 115 ppm. AS concentration has a significant effect on the number of stomata so that it affects the stomatal index. Criteria for plantlet resistance of Cattleya labiata Lindl. namely susceptible at concentrations of 0 ppm, moderate at concentrations of 85 and 95 ppm, and resistant at concentrations of 105 and 115 ppm.
