Abstract

Tabuh Rah in the Yajna Ritual of Balinese Community in Balinuraga Village, Way Panji Sub-District. This study aims to describe the tradition of Tabuh Rah in the Yajna ritual of Balinese community in Balinuraga Village, Sub-District of Way Panji, South Lampung Regency. This study applied descriptive method with qualitative approach. The data collection techniques were carried out through interview, observation, literature and documentation. The data analysis technique was done using qualitative data analysis. The results showed that the tradition of Tabuh Rah in the Yajna ritual of Balinese community of Balinuraga Village is still being preserved, yet the implementation has shifted from the literature, because during Tabuh Rah ritual, there is no du'a making (spell) on the cocks, and not even followed by upakara tradition like candlenut fighting, coconut fighting and egg fighting after the Sata war. Thus, in its development, Tabuh Rah is undergoing desacralization with the emergence of tajen (propan) which made Tabuh Rah its shield through legalizing gambling.
