Abstract

Timor deer (Cervus timorensis) is one of the ruminant animals. Generally ruminants are vulnerable to parasitic diseases, one of which is Fasciolosis. Fasciolosis is a parasitic disease caused by worms of the genus Fasciola. This research was conducted in March-May 2019 with the aim of finding out the prevalence of liver worms in Deer Park in the Forest Kingdom of Abdul Rachman. The method used is sedimentation through feces to find out deer infested with Fasciola hepatica. The results of the study showed a prevalence of Fasciola hepatica of 0%. These results do not indicate the presence of Fasciola hepatica infestations in Timor deer due to several factors, namely maintaining cleanliness of the cage, feeding treatment, the condition of the land in the dry cage, the absence of standing water in the cage or at the location of the feed source, and routine administration of anthelmintic . These factors can inhibit and kill the life cycle of Fasciola hepatica. Keywords—Timor deer (Cervus timorensis), Fasciola hepatica, Fasciolisis, .Prevalence, Deer Park Forest Conservation Wan Abdul Rachman.
