Abstract

ABSTRACT Control of anthracnose disease is generally carried out by farmers in Indonesia by using synthetic fungi�cides with chemical active ingredients. However, the use of synthetic fungicides is always accompanied by economic considerations and negative impacts on the environment so that other alternatives are needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Azadirachta indica (neem) leaf extract, Piper betle (betel) leaf extract, Jatropha spp (castor) leaf extract, Lantana camara leaf extract either singly or in combination to control anthracnose in chili (Capsicum annuum L). This research was conducted at the Plant Disease Laboratory and Biotechnology Laboratory, Department of Plant Protec�tion, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. This research was arranged in a completely ran�domized design (CRD) with the following treatments: Control, the single of Azadirachta indica (neem) leaf extract, Piper betle (betel) leaf extract, Jatropha spp (castor) leaf extract, Lantana camara leaf extract, the combination of Azadirachta indica (neem) leaf extract + Piper betle (betel) leaf extract , Azadirachta indica (neem) leaf extract +Jatropha spp (castor) leaf extract, Azadirachta indica (neem) leaf extract +Lantana camara leaf extract, the combination Piper betle (betel) leaf extract+ Jatropha spp (castor) leaf extract, Piper betle (betel) leaf extract+ Lantana camara leaf extract, Jatropha spp (castor) leaf extract +Lantana camara leaf extract, the combination Azadirachta indica (neem) leaf extract + Piper betle (betel) leaf extract + Jatropha spp (castor) leaf extract + Lantana camara leaf extract, the combination Azadirachta indica (neem) leaf extract +Piper betle (betel) leaf extract+ Jatropha spp (castor) leaf extract, the combination Piper betle (betel) leaf extract + Jatropha spp (castor) leaf extract +Lantana camara leaf extract, Jatropha spp (castor) leaf extract +Lantana camara leaf extract+ Azadirachta indica (neem) leaf extract. The total of 15 treatments with 3 replications. The results showed that the single Jatropha spp (castor) leaf extract, the combination betel leaf extract + neem leaf extract and the combination Lantana camara leaf extract + betel leaf extract + neem leaf extract had a superior and consistent effect in inhibiting the growth of hypha C. gloeosporioides but had no effect in inhibiting the growth of C.gloeosporioides spores.
