Abstract

Guava Crystals are currently popular among other tropical fruits in Lampung. Various factors can affect the production of Crystal guava, such as infestation of Root Knot Nematodes (RKN). This research that was aimed to identify the species of RKN (Meloidogyne spp.) associated with the Crystal guava plant in Lampung was conducted from January to April 2019. RKN sampling was carried out on Crystal guava plantations in PT GGF located in East Lampung, PT GGP located in Central Lampung, and guava plantation belonging to farmer in Sinar Betung village, Talang Padang Tanggamus. A total of 40 samples of guava roots were taken from the three plantations and counting of adult female RKN was carried out in the Laboratory of Plant Pest, Lampung University. The results show that the higher of root gall counts was found in GGF 2 plantations reached 88 gall/g of root, and the lower was found in PT GGP which was 27.6 gall/g of root. While the higher population of juvenile 351 indiv/g of root was found at the plantation block of 41 D2 and the lower, 10 indiv/g of root was found at block of 42 J1 of PT GGP. Two species of Root Knot Nematodes were found, namely Meloidogyne incognita and Meloidogyne javanica, with composition of 97.3% and 3.33% respectively.
