Abstract
The family and environment have a function as a place of education for children. The role of children is very important because it can help parents to ease work and family responsibilities. In managing land in Community Forest (HKm), parents are usually assisted by their children to ease the burden. Based on the results of research in the HKm Bina Wana Group, this was done to help make a family living as well as a place of direct learning for children. This study aims to determine the role of children in helping to cultivate HKm land in Tribudisyukur Village, Way Tebu District, West Lampung Regency. The study was conducted using the Snowball method. The analytical method used in this research is descriptive analysis. The results showed that the role of children in managing HKm specifically in productive activities, namely nursery, land management, planting, fertilizing, and harvesting. The number of children who assist in managing HKm in Tribudisyukur Village is 16%, a percentage of the total number of HKm Bina Wana members. According to them this happened because the age of the child owned by HKm members in Tribudisyukur Village was still entering the age of compulsory education (WAJAR) and parents preferred education.
