Abstract

Lampung Mangrove Center (LMC) is mangrove forest that have various of potentials, in term of physically, economically, and ecologically so that the potential to be developed into ecotourism. The research discovers how the polarizations of stakeholders perceptions of Lampung Mangrove Center ecotourism development plan in Margasari Village, Labuhan Maringgai District, East Lampung. Sampling of respondents was done by purposive sampling (deliberate sampling). The data collected are the perception of stakeholders on ecotourism, the perception of the positive impact of ecotourism on the economy, the perception of the negative impact of ecotourism on the economy, the perception of the positive impact of ecotourism on the socio-cultural community and the perception of the negative impact of ecotourism on the socio-cultural community by using both the interview method and the questionnaire that has been systematically designed using a Likert Scale. The result of research show perceptions of stakeholders (tourists, communities and managers) deduced consistent results on the aspects which are perceptions about ecotourism, perceptions of positive impacts on the economy, and positive impacts of ecotourism on socio-culture,. While the aspect of negative impact on the socio-culture, the visitors and the public has a disagreeable perception that ecotourism has a negative impact on socio-culture. The results of the average polarization in general derived that the value obtained above 3 (agreeable perception) which showed symmetric polarization results. that it can be a supporting factor in the development of a better Mangrove Center Lampung (LMC) ecotourism in the future.
