Abstract

Tourism awareness group (Pokdarwis) is one component that has an important role and contribution in the development of tourism in an area. One of the pokdarwis in Lampung is Pokdarwis Gangsa Indah. The purpose of this research to determine the role of Pokdarwis in managing Curup Gangsa nature tourism in Kasui District, Way Kanan Regency, Lampung Province. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with a questionnaire guide, field observations and documentation studies of thirty respondents who were all members of the Pokdarwis. The results showed that Pokdarwis Gangsa Indah in the development of tourism functions as the subject of development. Pokdarwis also acts as a government partner in carrying out tourism development activities, where the pokdarwis collaborates with government agencies in developing Curup Gangsa waterfall tourism to be known by the wider community.
