Abstract
This research aimed to examine the influence of discovery learning towards student’s mathematical communication skill. The population of this research was all the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Natar in the odd semester of the 2018/2019 academic year as many as 363 student’s that were distributed into 11 classes. The samples of this research were students of class VIII-D consist of 30 students and VIII-F consist of 30 students which were chosen by cluster random sampling technique. This research used the randomized pretest-posstest control group design. The research data were scores of the mathematical communication skill that were obtained through essay test of linear equations system with two variables. The data analysis of this research used Mann-Whitney
