Abstract

Shorea is a genus of Dipterocarpaceae which has the highest diversity index, but it is currently threatened by deforestation and forest degradation, so it is necessary to protect and to keep the sustainability of meranti diversity. To keep the diversity of meranti, it is necessary to analyze the level of meranti diversity in Pemerihan Resort Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park. This research used the analysis vegetation with a plot line method and then analyzed it by using Shannon Index (H') and Evenness Index (E). The results of this study showed that the level of meranti diversity in the Pemerihan Resort of BBSNP entered in low category (0.59 H') while the level of evenness index in high category (0.66).
