Abstract

Universities must apply Tridharma, namely education, research and community service. How Gadjah Mada University (UGM) especially the Faculty of Forestry applied it to the Getas Special Purpose Forest Area (KHDTK) became an interesting thing to study. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of analyzing whether UGM has implemented the Tridharma of Higher Education in managing forest areas with the specific purpose of Getas. The research location was in Getas KHDTK in August 2019. The research method was by interviewing key people namely employees, lecturers and students involved in the management of Getas KHDTK. Observations were also made to support the results of the interview. The results of the study showed that UGM had implemented the Tridharma aspect of education and students were involved in the activity. Tridharma aspects of research have been carried out by lecturers and students. Lecturers who conduct research involve the participation of students in research projects carried out. Forestry Faculty of UGM has carried out community service activities around the area involving students and the community in every activity carried out. The involvement of students and the community is important because all the activities of the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi will end up as students as the successors of future generations of cadres and the community as a community that will immediately feel the impact of the Tridharma Universities.
