Abstract
The bivalent vaccine Vibrio parahaemolyticus and V. vulnificus confers protection to snubnose pompanos after its administration by immersion in two doses, namely 101 CFU/ml and 108 CFU/ml. The main objective of this study was to observe its effectiveness against the two pathogenic vibrios, V. parahaemolyticcus and V. vulnificus. Snubnose pompanos sizing around 3 cm were immunized whit the bivalent vaccine by 30 minutes of immersion. The overall results indicated that the 108 CFU/ml vaccine increased leucocyte count, phagocytic activity, phagocytic index and antibody titres, as well as induced protection levels higher than 70%. The 108 CFU/ml bivalent vaccine provided more protection against V.vulnificus, better than against V. parahaeomolyticus. Keywords: V.parahaemolyticus, V. vulnificus immune, antibody titres, protection levels
