Abstract
This research was intended to determine the effect of residual nitrogen fertilizer and tillage system on the amount of root nodules, N uptake and the production of mung bean plants. This 3135st year of the long-term study was held from May 2018 – July 2018 at Lampung Polytechnic Research Center, Bandar Lampung. Research design was randomized block design arranged by factorial with two treatment factors. The first factor was long term nitrogen fertilizer residue i.e. N0= 0 kg N ha-1 and N2 = 200 kg N ha-1. The second factor was long term tillage system i.e T1 = intensive tillage, T2 = minimum tillage, T3 = no tillage. Long term nitrogen fertilizer residue did not affect the total of root nodules and N uptake, but in fact affecting effective nodules and production of mung bean. The amount of effective nodules and mung bean production were higher under no nitrogen fertilizer than with nitrogen fertilizer ressidue. Tillage system did not affect total of root nodules, N uptake and production of mung bean plants. There was no any interaction effect between long term nitrogen fertilizer residue and tillage system on the amount of total root nodules, N uptake and production of mung bean plants. There were no any correlations between N uptake with production and plant dry weight with production, but instead there was a correlation between N uptake with plant dry weight.
