Abstract
ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to obtain evidence about the factors which influence financial distress in manufacturing companies listed at Indonesia Stock Exchange. Independent variables used in this research are profit margin ratio, financial leverage ratio, liquidity ratio, growth ratio, firm size, return on assets, and sales debt ratio. The data were selected using purposive sampling method. The sample are 146 manufacturing companies listed at Indonesia Stock Exchange and observation are five years from 2010 until 2014. Sample were classified to be financial distress and non financial distress using interest coverage ratio Claessens, 2002). Analysis data used in this research is binary logistic regression. The result of logistic regression showed that financial leverage ratio, liquidity ratio, growth ratio, return on assets, and sales debt ratio affect financial distress. Otherwise, profit margin ratio and size do not affect financial distress. Keyword: Financial Distress, Logistic Regression, Return on Assets, Growth Ratio, Liquidity Ratio, Financial Leverage Ratio
