Abstract

Measles is an infectious disease caused by measles virus. In general, measles attacks children and classified as an endemic disease in the world. Measures for measles transmission are from person to person through droplet respiration or borne water as a nucleus droplet aerosol. Measles is classified as a dangerous disease that can cause disability or death from complications. Pneumonia, otitis media and encephalitis are complications of measles. Measles is one of the diseases that can be prevented by immunization (PD3I). Measles immunization is part of advanced immunization which will be given at the age of 2 years and 1st grade of elementary school. The advanced immunization provided is aimed at giving back immunity to the body after the basic immunization has been given. measles that occurs due to advanced immunization is affected by health behavior. Health behavior consists of several factors. One of the most important and very influential factors is the ease factor such as mother's knowledge. Mother's knowledge is very important in carrying out child immunization. Several studies have shown that the level of maternal knowledge affected measles cases in the implementation of immunization. The higher the mother's knowledge, then in the implementation of measles immunization carried out properly and appropriately. Whereas the lower the mother's knowledge, then the implementation of measles immunization is not good and inappropriate.
