Abstract

This research aimed to examine the physical properties of sifted palm kernel cake with different sieve sizes. The treatment consisted of 4 levels of sieve sizes: 16, 30, 50, and 100 mesh with 3 replications for each level. Variables observed were density, stack density, compaction density, floating rate, and stack angle. The results showed that the level of sieve size affected (P<0.01) density, stack density, compaction density, floating rate, and stack angle. Density, stack density, compaction density, and floating rate of palm kernel cake decreased while the stack angel increased as the increase of sieve size.
