Abstract

The Effect of Guided Discovery Learning Model toward Student’s Mathematical Representation Skill. This experimental research aimed to analyzed the effect of guided discovery learning model toward student’s mathematical representation skill. The population of this research was the eighth grade student of SMP Muhammadiah 3 Bandarlampung in academic year 2018/2019 as many as 211 students that were distributed into seven classes. Samples of this research were the student of class VIII C consist of 3 students and VIII E consist of 31 students that were selected through purposive sampling technique. The design of this research was pretest-posttest control grup design. Data analysis in this research used t’-test and proportion test with α = 0,05. Based on the research result, that student’s matematical representation skill who followed the guided discovery learning model was higher than students who followed the non-guided discovery learning model. Thus, the guided discovery learning model affect student's mathematical representation skill. Keywords: effect, guided discovery learning, mathematical representation skill
