Abstract
Social arithmetic is an important aspect of basic numeracy and has practical benefits relevant to the world of work and everyday life. SMKS Nurul Huda students' low understanding of contextual mathematical concepts, especially in social arithmetic material, requires training in understanding social arithmetic concepts. This activity aims to provide an understanding of social arithmetic concepts in an applied manner and motivate students to learn independently and continuously. This workshop was conducted in the form of interactive lectures, discussions, and contextual calculation simulations to make it easier for students to understand the mathematical concepts taught. The success of the workshop was evaluated through a pre-test and post-test. Based on the pre-test and post-test scores, the average difference between the post-test and pre-test scores was 33.08. Testing the difference in the two means using the t-test showed that the post-test score was statistically greater than the pre-test score. These results indicate that the participants understood what was conveyed by the resource person and broadened their insights into social arithmetic in everyday life.
