Abstract

This study aims to determine the prevalence rates of liver flukes in Jawarandu goats at different ages in the Makmur II livestock group, Gisting Atas Village, Gisting District, Tanggamus Regency. This research was carried out in October—November 2023. The feces samples obtained in this study were tested at the Parasitology Laboratory, Lampung Veterinary Center. The research method used is a survey, method with sampling technic by census. The variable observed in this study was the number of Jawarandu goats infested with liver flukes. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis by looking at the presence or absence of worms in the feces of Jawarandu goats. The results of this study showed that the prevalence rates for Jawarandu goat liver flukesin the Makmur II Livestock Group was 0% or low category. This low prevalence rate indicated that management of maintenance, cages, feed, sanitation and treatment is carried out well and routinely. Apart from that, in the cage environment there are no puddles of water or snails which can cause goats infested with liver flukes. The difference in age of the goats did not affect the prevalence rate of liver flukes in Jawarandu goats in the Makmur II livestock group.
