Abstract

Many negative prejudices arise when a woman becomes a widow. However, out there, many widows become single parents and successfully support their families without relying on a man. This is the issue in this research, which is how the image of the female main character in the novel "Layangan Putus" as a social individual is depicted. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive. The data collection method in this research involves text analysis and the classification of stories from the literature sources examined in the data corpus. In total, 49 data points were found in the novel "Layangan Putus." In this research, each aspect is divided into the social image of women within the family and the social image of women in society.
