Abstract

The problem with this study is the low creative thinking ability of grade IV SDN 8 Metro Timur students. This study aimed to determine the positive and significant influence of the open-ended approach on the creative thinking abilities of students in mathematics at grade IV SDN Metro Timur. This type of research is an experimental study using a quasi-experimental design method for nonequivalent control group design. The data collection technique was carried out using non-test and test techniques. Data analysis using t-test. The results showed that the open-ended approach positively and significantly affected the thinking skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 8 Metro Timur and Ha. In addition, the study's results also showed that the experimental class students experienced a greater average increase compared to the control class.
