Abstract

Lampung, particularly Bandar Lampung, is the potential region with sufficient amount of organic waste. The potential of the organic waste ought to be utilized through, one of which, training for the local people so that they can be empowered to optimize the benefit of such potential. Digital media as new means, thanks to the information technology development, can be utilized in assisting the optimalization effort. This community service program was carried out in the form of both lecturing and demonstration. The focus of the agenda was the training for using digital media and waste management for compost benefitting local people. Recycling and minimizing waste piling are shared commitment to preserve environment. Waste can be used as compost to fertilize soils and it can be widely promoted and marketed through the use of social media.
