Abstract
Local community participation in the management of the Petengoran Mangrove is necessary because the community is the leading actor in its management. This study aims to analyze the Gebang Village community’s participation level in managing mangrove ecotourism based on internal factors, external factors, and the benefits of community participation in economic, socio-cultural, and environmental aspects. The study was conducted in March 2023 in the Gebang Village, Teluk Pandan District, Lampung Province. The sample in the study totaled 30 respondents: 4 in the village apparatus, 7 in the mangrove conservatory group, 5 in nurseries, and 14 in the area around the mangrove. Methods include observation, interviews, collections of documentation, and literature analysis using primary and secondary data. Based on the results, internal factors are in the medium category. However, external factors and the benefits of participation are included in the high category. The level of community participation in mangrove management on the decision-making indicators is included in the low category, the implementation indicators are medium, and the monitoring and evaluation indicators are low. Based on these three indicators, the level of community participation is in the medium category.
