Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using different growing media on maggot black soldier fly (BSF) on the morphology (color, length, width) of production per head, fresh and dry matter. This research was conducted in May-June, in Karang Anyar Village, Jati Mulyo District, Bandar Lampung. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were P1: rice bran 2 kg BK + 1 g BSF egg; P2: palm cake 2 kg BK + 1 g BSF egg; P3: 2 kg of tofu dregs + 1 g of BSF egg; P4: onggok 2 kg BK + 1 g BSF egg; P5: carrots are not suitable for consumption 2 kg BK + 1 g BSF egg; and P6 : fish waste 2 kg BK + 1 g BSF egg. The observed variables included morphology (color, length, width), production per head, fresh production and maggot dry matter production. The data obtained were by using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan's multiple range test (DMRT). The results showed a very significant effect on the length, width, production per head, fresh production and dry matter production of maggot (P<0.01). Tofu dregs growing medium (P3) gave the best effect (P<0.05) on production per head, fresh production, and maggot dry matter production.
