Abstract
Based on the RTRW of Tanggamus Regency in 2011-2031 that the Gisting Agropolitan Area is a strategic economic area in the Tanggamus Regency which has potential for the agricultural sector, especially horticultural agriculture with annual vegetables and fruit commodities with regional and international service levels. As a strategic economic area, the Gisting Agropolitan Area is expected to improve the regional economy. Developing regional superior commodities is one of the efforts to improve the regional economy. The purpose of this study was to analyze the leading commodities of the horticulture sub-sector of the Gisting Agropolitan Region and determine the sub-districts that became the production centers for the development of these leading commodities. Methods of analysis in determining leading commodities and production centers in this study are Location quotient (LQ) analysis and Shift Share (SS) analysis. The type of data used is secondary data time series in the period 2016-2020. Based on the results of the study, there were six priority horticultural commodities and production center areas for each of the leading commodities, including cabbage and avocado in Gisting District; beans and avocados in Talang Padang District; tomatoes and bananas in Sumberejo District; leeks in Pugung District; and bananas in Bulok District.
