Abstract
ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that affect the number of visitors and determine the economic value of tourism at the Curup Kereta Waterfall using travel cost analysis. Multiple linear regression was the analytical method used to analyze the factors that affect the number of visitors, and the travel cost method was used to calculate the economic value of tourism. The Curup Kereta Waterfall tourist region, Umpu Semenguk District, Way Kanan Regency, was purposefully chosen as the study's location. A survey method was utilized, and 67 individuals were chosen at random to participate. The study was carried out in August–September 2022. The study's findings indicated that the average cost of travel was IDR 80,312 per person each visit, with transportation expenditures coming in at IDR 31,021, or 38.62 percent, as the most expensive part of a trip. The number of tourists who visit Curup Railway Waterfall is affected by the cost of their trip, their income, their age, how far they live from tourist attractions, and the services and infrastructure that are offered there. The Kereta Curup Waterfall tour has an annual economic value of IDR 1,529,199,667. Keywords: economic value, travel cost method, Kereta waterfall, tourist
