Abstract

ABSTRACT Consumption patterns significantly affect the adequacy of nutrition, calories, and health. Fish is one of the ingredients in food and a good source of protein for the body. One effort to increase shelf life of fish is canning. The purpose of this study was to analyze consumption patterns and consumer satisfaction with canned fish. Canned fish consumption patterns were analyzed using quantitative descriptive methods, while canned fish consumer satisfaction was analyzed using the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The results showed that the consumption pattern of canned fish consumers in traditional markets in Bandar Lampung City had a consumption frequency of 2 times per month with a total consumption of 2 cans per month. The most widely consumed brand of canned fish is the ABC brand. Consumers prefer large-sized canned fish packaging, and the most preferred type of fish is sardines. The level of consumer satisfaction with canned fish in traditional markets in Bandar Lampung is 82.8 percent, which means that consumers are very satisfied with canned fish products. Attributes that are a priority for improvement are the number of fish per package and the price of canned fish. Keywords: canned fish, satisfaction, consumption patterns
