Abstract

Raw materials are the most important component in a production process. The production could be proceeding if the raw materials are fulfilled. Therefore, it is necessary to manage and control the inventory of raw materials as a consideration in determining the quantity of efficient inventory. The research aims to analyze the optimal amount of raw material inventory, safety stock, reorder point, also maximum inventory at House of Tofu Agroindustry based on EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) method and calculate the final value inventory based on FIFO (First in First Out) method. The research used a cased study method. The results showed that raw material inventory control at House of Tofu is good enough and optimal they never run out of raw materials in the production process. The total inventory cost showed that the inventory costs incurred are smaller than company’s policy with savings Rp12.233 per year. House of Tofu Agroindustry should increase their raw materials inventory control system with EOQ Method so that the inventory budget is allocated for other profitable purposes.
