Abstract
Achieving food security is a main problem faced by farmers, especially farmers who have low main crop productivity. Farmers' ability to meet their needs is influenced by the area of land and crop production they cultivate. This food security must be realized to avoid food insecurity among farmers. This research aimed to analyze the level of food security and the factors that affect food security of farmer households in various agroecosystems in North Lampung Regency. This research was conducted in rice agroecosystem in Sinar Jaya Village, Tanjung Raja Subdistrict; cassava agroecosystem in Ratu Jaya Village, Central Sungkai Subdistrict; and pepper agroecosystem in Tanjung Jaya Village, West Sungkai Subdistrict. Data were collected from June to September 2021. Samples of 105 farmer households were selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis method used was cross-classification between the share of food expenditure and energy adequacy level and ordinal logistic regression. The results showed that the majority of farmer households were classified as less food. The largest number of food secure household was farmer households in rice agroecosystem, while the largest number of food insecure household was farmer households in cassava agroecosystem. Education of housewives, household income, and dummy agroecosystem have a significant effect on food security.
