Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan pada kemampuan siswa dalam kemampuan pemahaman membaca teks naratif setelah belajar melalui strategi story grammar. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Sasaran penelitian sebanyak 33 siswa. Tes membaca digunakan sebagai alat untuk pengambilan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya perbedaan signifikan pada kemampuan siswa dalam membaca teks naratif dengan tingkat signifikansi 0.00<0.05. Dapat disarankan bahwa strategi story grammar memberikan siswa latihan yang konsisten yang dapat membantu mereka dalam mengorganisir informasi dari teks bacaan. The objective of this research was to find out whether there was a statistically significant difference of students’ reading comprehension ability after they were taught through story grammar strategy. This research was quantitative. The subjects of the research were 33 students at the third grade of SMP Al-Huda Jatiagung. The instrument used was reading comprehension test. The result showed that there was a statistically significant difference of students’ reading comprehension of narrative text with significant level 0.00<0.05. This suggests that story grammar strategy gives the students continuous and consistent training in order to aid them in organizing the information from reading text.
