Abstract

ABSTRACT One of the problems in the cultivation of dragon fruit plants is the presence of pests and plant pathogens, but information about important diseases of dragon fruit plants in Lampung is still lacking. The purpose of the study was to determine the diseases found in dragon fruit plants in important planting areas in Way Kanan Regency. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Diseases and Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. Sampling of diseased plants was carried out in Bumiharjo Village, Buah Bahuga District, Way Kanan Regency, Lampung Province. The methods used in this research were observation analytical and descriptive, namely by conducting interviews with farmers, observing and taking samples, making PSA (potato sucrose agar) and YPA (Yeast Peptone Agar) media, isolation and purification of fungi, identification of pathogens, and pathogenicity tests. Based on the results of the study, it could be concluded that are several diseases in dragon fruit cultivation in Way Kanan Regency, namely scabies (Pestalotiopsis sp.), fusarium wilt (Fusarium sp.), anthracnose (Collectrotricum sp.), stem cancer (Neoscytalidium dimidiatum), red rust (Cephaleuros sp.), soft rot (Xanthomonas), and vine root rot (Sclerotium rolfsii).
