Abstract

Grand Forest Park (Tahura) of Wan Abdul Rachman (WAR) is one of the tropical forest areas which consists of various vegetation. One species of vegetation that makes up the forest is a member of the genus Ficus which has many benefits for the lives of the people and animals. However, many local people do not know the benefits of the Ficus plant and there is no definite data regarding the species of Ficus in the Grand Forest Park of Wan Abdul Rachman's Collection Block. Therefore, research is needed with the aim of understanding the species and benefits of Ficus, particularly, in the Collection Block. This research employed the strip transect method with sampling intensity of 2%. The number of observation paths is 3 and was systematically designed, with a distance between the lines of 500 m. The size of each line of observation is 20 m x 500 m. Data analysis was carried out in two ways, namely primary data by direct identification in the field and secondary data by interviewing land owners. The results show that there were six (6) species of plants from the genus of Ficus, namely Ficus ampelas, Ficus septica, Ficus benjamina, Ficus variegata, Ficus hispida, and Ficus annulata, which generally have benefits as food, traditional medicine, fodder for animal and livestock, ornamental plants, and a regulator of water management.
