Abstract

This research aimed to study the effect of Purpureocillium lilacinum bionematicides and root knot nematodes RKN from different host and their interaction on nematodes popul ations and plant roots damages. The research was conducted in the experimental field of Hajimena Village, Natar District, South Lampung Regency. The Split Plot Experimental Design consisting of 2 main plots and 4 subplots with 5 replications was applied. The main plot consi sted of two RKN groups from different hosts, while the sub plot consisted of four treatments of nematicide. The two mai n plot treatments were RKN from the guava Kristal host and RKN from the host tomato, while the nematicide treatments were control , P. lilacinum bionematicide, P. lilacinum bionematicide + compost and chemical nematicide (Carbofuran). The variables observed were nematode populations in roots and soil and root damage. The data were analyzed by analyze of variance and mean separate then tested using the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% significantly level. The results showed that RKN from guava Kristal host was more damaging than RKN from tomato host. The application of P. lilacinum bionematicide was effective to control the NPA population, and addition of compost increases its effectiveness. The effect of interaction between the host origin of NPA and nematicide were not signifi cant.
