Abstract

ABSTRACT Humans are the most decisive resource in achieving the desired goals of the company. PT PLN (Persero) P3B Sumatera UPT Tanjung Karang is a company engaged in electric power generation to serve the needs of the community. This study aims to determine the effect of work motivation, competence, and compensation on employee performance applied by PT PLN (Persero) P3B Sumatra UPT Tanjung Karang in influencing the performance of its employees. This study was analyzed using simple linear regression analysis. The data used in this study uses primary data obtained from 137 respondents answers to employees of PT PLN (Persero) P3B Sumatra UPT Tanjung Karang. The conclusion is that this study supports the proposed hypothesis, namely: work motivation has a positive effect on employee performance, competence has a positive effect on employee performance, and compensation has a positive effect on employee performance. Suggestions given from this study are PT PLN (Persero) Sumatra P3B UPT Tanjung Karang in order to provide clear job description information so that employees can understand their work properly. In addition, PT PLN (Persero) Sumatra P3B Tanjung Karang is recommended to implement good training and development for the improvement of employee performance, and better adjust the amount of salary with the burden of work carried out by employees.
