Abstract

the efficiency of Ngeroras Tradition in Wirata Agung Village, Seputih Mataram sub-district, Central Lampung. The Ngeroras tradition is a series of Balinese customary deaths in the entire of the yadnya pitra. This study aims to determine the efficiency of the Ngeroras tradition carried out by Balinese people in Wirata Agung Village based on three main factors: budget, time, and efforts. The method used in this study is descriptive method with a qualitative approach, the data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. The result showed that the tradition of Ngeroras in Wirata Agung Village is still being applied, but it has been made efficient. The remaining stages included: a. Nganget donbingin, b. Ngajum, c. Mpradaksine. d. Melaspasbukur, e. Ngeseng puspalinga. Stages that are omitted included: a. Amet Toyehening, b. Ngeliwet, c. Nyentir Damar, d. Pependetan. The remaining stages of Ngeroras aboved indicated that the tradition of Ngeroras has been made efficient by the community as needed. To conclude, the tradition of Ngeroras has indeed been made efficient even though this tradition is still being carried out in a contextual manner.
