Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of students' ability in the beginning of learning that contributes to the low learning outcomes of students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Bandar Sribhawono, East Lampung. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in Civics learning outcomes between students who learned using the SFAE model compared to learning using CS models with regard to students' initial abilities. The research method used is a quasi-experimental approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through tests (pretest and posttest). For instrument testing using validity and reliability tests. Data analysis techniques using two-way variant analysis and t test. Research results show that the use of the SFAE model can improve student learning outcomes, especially in students with high initial ability of 71.42% and 21.42% in students with moderate initial ability, while CS learning models can improve student learning outcomes with low initial ability 35.71%.
