Abstract

The covid-19 outbreak has changed the structure of people’s lifestyles. The obligation of health by wearing a mask is an obligation for everyone in every activity to protect themselves and others from the threat of covid-19 transmission. Changes in people’s lifestyles by using masks turned out to cause new problems in the form of environmental threats from the waste of using disposable masks. The lack of understanding and awareness of how to manage the waste of used mask and environmental threats from mismanagement are interesting things to study. The findings in this study will provide basic knowledge about the contextual conditions of community behavior, especially students in using masks and the problems that arise from improper management. Based on these contextual conditions, this research is expected to help develop policies for waste control and management, especially among students and alternative solutions that are innovative in overcoming these problems.
