Abstract

Abstract. This research was intended to determine the effect of the 30th year of long term tillage systems and nitrogen fertilization on the growth of weeds and corn crop production. This research was held from February - June 2017 at Lampung Polytechnic Research Center. The treatment was arranged in a randomized block design consisting of two factors with four replications. The first factor was tillage systems consisting of intensive tillage, minimum tillage and no-tillage. The second factor was nitrogen fertilization consisting of 0 kg N ha-1 and 200 kg N ha-1 . The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Homogeneity of variance was tested by Barlet Test. If the assumptions were fulfiled, the data were then analyzed using the F Test. The difference between the treatment mean values were tested by LSD at the level of 5%. The results showed that: (1) Intensive tillage treatment resulted in higher total dry weight of weed than no-tillage at 3,6 and 9 weeks after planting (WAP). The intensive tillage treatment resulted in higher of total dry weighr of both grass and broad leaf weeds than no-tillage at 3 WAP. While no-tillage treatment produced corn production higher compared to intensive tillage. (2) The treatment of 200 kg N ha-1 resulted in the total dry weight of weeds, broad leaves weeds, grass, plant height and maize production higher compared to the 0 kg N ha-1 fertilizer treatment. (3) At 3 WAP, there were no changes in the composition of weed compared to initial observation. Dominant weeds at 3 WAP were consecutively Calopogonium mucunoides, Richardia brasiliensis, Spigelia antelmia, Rottbellia exaltata and Cleome rutidosperma. While at observations of 6 WAP and 9 WAP, the composition of weeds were in fact changed. At 6 WAP, dominant weeds were consecutively Richardia brasiliensis, Rottbellia exaltata, Calopogonium mucunoides and Cleome rutidosperma, while at 9 MST were Calopogonium mucunoides and Richardia brasiliensis. (4) There were interaction effects between treatments of tillage systems and N ferrtilizer on total dry weight of weed at 3, 6 and 9 WAP, on dry weight of broad leaf weed at 9 WAP, on dry weight of grass at 9 WAP, and on corn crop production.
