Abstract

The urban forest of Cadika Scout Campground is one of the green open spaces in the city of Medan which has many functions and benefits for urban communities. The existence of this urban forest is very important to be maintained to balance the environment. This study was conducted to determine the visitor's perception of the Cadika Scout Campground urban forest. Data was collected by direct interviews which were then analyzed using a Likert scale. The community disagrees with the statement that the condition of the urban forest is clean and the facilities of the urban forest are comfortable and complete. However, the community assesses that the condition of the urban forest is good. Perceptions of the existence of important urban forests and urban forests need to be maintained in the very good category. The public's perception of the existence of the Cadika Scout Campground urban forest from the seven statements shows that it is in the good category. Urban forest management is good but still needs to be improved and improvements are made to urban forest facilities and participation from visitors is needed to take part in protecting the environment in urban forests. The various benefits of urban forests that can be felt by visitors make the existence of urban forests should be maintained because urban forests provide useful services for urban communities.
