Abstract
The existence of birds in green open spaces has an important role as a reduction towards human stress levels through their distinctive sound. This study aims to determine the community’s perception of the role of birds in the comfort level in Kalpataru Park and PKOR Park. The data collected on the birds’ presence was taken using the exploratory method and public perception and carried out by using a questionnaire. The Bird diversity data were analyzed using Shannon-Wiener Diversity Index (H’) and the people’s perceptions were analyzed using a Likert scale. The results showed that the number of birds found was 6 species, namely Cave swiftlet, Eurasian Tree Sparrow, Sooty-headed bulbul, Pacific swallow, Spotted dove, and Zebra dove. The value of diversity is moderate. The public’s perception of the variables of the presence and sound of birds was classified as very comfortable, while the variables of the number, diversity, and color of birds were classified as comfortable. The attractiveness and comfort level of green open space can be increased through the diversity of birds by increasing the diversity of trees as a source of natural food.
