Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the growth and survival rate of vaname shrimp larvae. The larvae were fed with three different diets consisting of frozen Artemia nauplii (A), liquid feed (B) and powder feed (C) from zoea (Z1) until 17 days, stocked at 100 shrimp larvae/lt. Three treatments and three repitition were used in this study with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The research conducted at PT. Citra Larva Cemerlang, Kalianda, South Lampung. The results of the 17-day experiment showed that the absolute growth of shrimp larvae fed with Frozen Artemia has the highest growth (5,6 mg) and daily growth rate (0,33 mg/day). The A treatment resulted in a significantly higher shrimp growth than the other treatments. Survival showed differences on B and C treatments, and A treatments reached the highest survival (72,9%). The A treatment could improve food conversion efficiency and the most effective of the three diets (0,27%). Water quality during culture temperatures obtained is 27,1-32oC, pH 7,7 3-8,26, dissolved oxygen 3,8-7,1 mg/l, salinity 30-34 ppt, ammonia 0,02-1,57 mg/l.
