Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effective concentration of purple nutsedge (Cyperus rotundus L.) flour in controlling anthracnose in chili plants. This research was conducted at the Plant Disease Laboratory and Integrated Field Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, University of Lampung from August to November 2017. The treatments in this study were arranged in a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 4 replications. The treatments consisted of control (P0), propineb fungicide (P1), 5% concentration of purple nutsedge flour (P2), 15% concentration of purple nutsedge flour (P3), and 25% concentration of purple nutsedge flour (P4). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (anova) and when a significant effect was revealed in the anova, the mean separations among treatments were obtained by least significant difference (LSD 0.05). Parameters observed were disease severity, plant height, number of chilies, and chilli weight. The results showed that 5%, 15%, and 25% concentrations of purple nutsedge flour were effective in suppressing the severity of anthracnose disease in chili plants in field. Effectiveness of 5%, 15%, and 25% purple nutsedge Flour concentrations are comparable to propineb fungicides in suppressing the severity of anthracnose disease in chili plants. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi tepung umbi teki (Cyperus rotundus L.) yang efektif dalam mengendalikan penyakit antraknosa pada tanaman cabai. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Ilmu Penyakit Tanaman dan Laboratorium Lapang Terpadu Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung dimulai sejak bulan Agustus sampai November 2017. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari kontrol (P0), fungisida propineb (P1), tepung umbi teki konsentrasi 5% (P2), tepung umbi teki konsentrasi 15% (P3), dan tepung umbi teki konsentrasi 25% (P4). Data yang diperoleh selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan sidik ragam dan kemudian dilanjutkan dengan uji beda nyata terkecil (BNT) pada taraf nyata 5% . Parameter yang diamati adalah keparahan penyakit, tinggi tanaman cabai, jumlah buah cabai, dan bobot buah cabai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tepung teki konsentrasi 5%, 15%, dan 25% efektif dalam menekan keparahan penyakit antraknosa pada tanaman cabai di lapang. Tepung teki dengan konsentrasi 5%,15%, dan 25% memiliki keefektifan yang sebanding dengan fungisida propineb dalam menekan keparahan penyakit antraknosa pada tanaman cabai. Kata kunci: Colletotrichum capsici, Efektivitas, Tanaman cabai, dan Tepung umbi teki.
