The purpose of this study was to isolate and identify bioactive flavonoid compounds contained in the polar fraction of the branch skin of pudau plants (Artocarpus kemando Miq.) obtain from Karang Anyar, Klaten, Penengahan, South Lampung. The isolation of compounds was extracted using maceration method with methanol solvent, then followed by purifification using vacuum liquid chromatography and column chromatography. The molecular structure of flavonoids are determined including physic parameters, and spectroscopy by using UV-Vis and IR. Pure compounds from isolation are yellow crystals that it has a melting point of 255-258oC. Based on the results of spectroscopic analysis and comparing with standard compounds, it was shown that the isolated compound is artonin E. The purification step obtained this compound as much as 106.8 mg succesfully. This compound showed strong anticancer activity with IC50 (1.56 µg / mL) in the cytotoxicity test using P-388 leukemia cells, also showed antibacterial activity with a moderate category against Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli.
