Abstract

Abstract The role of agricultural extension workers (PPL) in increasing the farming productivity of farmer is very important. This study aims to determine 1) the performance of PPL, the level of farmer satisfaction with PPL performance, the level of farm productivity, and farm income, 2) the factors related to the performance the PPL, 3) the relationship between the level of the performance and the level of farmers’ satisfaction, and 4) the relationship between the performance and the farmer satisfaction with farmer productivity and farm income. This research was conducted in Natar District, South Lampung Regency, and the research method used is a survey method. Respondents in this study consisted of 8 PPL and 54 corn farmers. Data analysis method uses descriptive method, and the hypothesis testing uses nonparametric statistical methods Rank Spearman Correlation Coefficient. The results showed that 1) the performance of agricultural extension workers (PPL) is quite good; the level of farmer satisfaction with the performance of agricultural extension workers (PPL) is quite satisfied; and the average productivity of corn farming is 6.49 tons / ha; average corn farm income of IDR 10,143,750.00 /ha, 2) factors related to the performance of agricultural extension workers (PPL) are their age, the work time, and the availability of facilities and infrastructure, while those not related are education level and PPL status, 3) the level of performance of agricultural extension workers (PPL) has a significant relationship with the level of satisfaction of corn farmers, and 4) the performance of agricultural extension workers (PPL) and farmer satisfaction is related to the productivity and income of farming.
