Abstract

ABSTRACT.Development of plantations in Indonesia often faced constraints of critical land conditions. The problem can be dealt by using natural soil conditioner such as humic acid and added microorganisms such as mychorriza.This study was conducted to find out the effect of mycorrhiza (Scleroderma sp) and humic acid on the growth of merbau seedlings.This study was carried out using Factorial Complete Randomized Design with two factors, namely Scleroderma spl dose and humic acid concentration. The Scleroderma sp dose used 0 ml and 20 ml and the concentration of humic acid used 0 ppm, 1500 ppm, 2000 ppm and 2.500 ppm. The data obtained were then analyzed using analysis of variance and it recomended by the duncan test. This study shows the effect of application of humic acid which significantly increases the height, diameter, and dry weight of the merbau seedlings. Mycorrhizal inoculation significantly increases the dyameter,and total dry weight. Meanwhile the interaction of humic acid and mycorrhizal acids significantly increased the percent of colonization, leaf area, shoot dry weight, and root length. Addition of 2.000 ppm humic acid combined with 20 ml mycorrhiza gave the best result for the growth of merbau seedlings and mycorrhizal colonization.
