Abstract

Gadingrejo in Pringsewu residence has a large paddy field. It was awarded as a self-supporting village in paddy rice production. It capabilities have to maintain for supporting food security initiative. A monitoring using remote sensing requires a multi-temporal of satellite images from Landsat 8 for extracting the biophysical information related to paddy rice growth, includes water, air and soil factors in a planting period. The multispectral (VisNIR) and thermal bands have processed to gain the values of Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI), and Land Surface Temperature (LST) as the representation of paddy rice, water content both in soil and paddy leaves and air temperature respectively. The relationships are drawn using a multi-temporal chart and simple regression models. This study result in a phonological pattern of paddy rice that required 150 days to growth based on the change of NDVI values that started from 0.1 to 0.9 before it slowly decreased to 0.7 and 0.1 at the end of the harvest period. It follows by a similar shape of LST and an irregular shape of NDWI with the values ranges from 1 to 1.5 oC and from 0.8 to 0.5 respectively. While all the biophysical factors have positive correlation from moderate to strong relationship with R2 0.7, 0.79 and 0.8 for NDVI and leaf NDWI, NDVI and soil NDWI, and NDVI and LST respectively, the water content both in leaf and soil is more influenced by LST according to the value of R2 0.61 and 0.72 respectively.
